New York City Region

The New York City Region encompasses five borough: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, and the Bronx. Our goal is to increase the number of teachers who pursue national board certification and facilitators in high needs schools. In order to reach our goals we have support and partnerships with the United Federation of Teachers Teacher Center, CUNY Lehman, the NYC Department of Education, and Fordham University. This year because of additional grant funding, we are offering many cohort groups facilitated by trained Candidate Support Providers. If anyone is still interested, we invite new candidates to contact us. We are also excited to collaborate with the UFTTC and NYSUT to host the Writing institute for candidates. Stay tuned for our Awareness Sessions and end of the year celebrations in NYC.

Regional Coordinators

Gary Samuel Bogle is a Nationally Board Certified teacher/ Exceptional Needs Specialist. He pursued National Board Certification (NBC) because he wants to revolutionize our education system. Gary want sto broaden our idea of educational success to include our spiritual core, and make addressing our inner wellbeing the priority.
Gary stated that, "National Board Certification has made me a more reflective practitioner. That is to say, when I reflect on the results of a lesson, I use that reflection to impact future instructional choices. I want to support educators who choose to be trailblazers on the road to becoming a NBCT. This is one way that I can improve the teaching profession and the learning for students."
Gary is a facilitator for NYC Men Teach and NBCNY and is currently teaching high school social studies in Northside Charter High School.
