In response to requests from teachers who are current National Board Candidates, advanced candidates, or completing renewal this retreat was created to give time to their own writing in a collegial environment. Working independently, with a partner, or in writing groups on portfolio components, candidates have the opportunity to write, read, analyze and reflect in supportive surroundings at NYSUT Headquarters in Latham. Candidates can participate in peer review or receive feedback from NBCT Candidate Support Providers. Please bring a laptop computer, videos, entries, portfolio directions, standards and scoring guide.
