Long Island Region

The Long Island Region encompasses only 2 counties, but 125 school districts.  Our goals are to increase the number of teachers pursuing the National Board Certification process and to grow the number of NBCTs in formal teacher leader roles that are formal, funded, and valued. We collaborate with NYSUT, NYSED, Teacher Centers, and districts to continue to spread the benefits of National Board Certification.  We have several ambassadors in both counties on Long Island who can present awareness sessions to school boards, administrators, and teachers who are interested in learning more about the National Board Certification Process.  We are also excited to have several Professional Learning Facilitators serving as adjunct professors through SUNY Empire and the NYSUT ELT who are able to offer graduate courses to those who pursue National Board Certification.
